China Lighting Sourcing
Pendant, Table & Architectural Fixtures

Lighting sits between a design object and an electrical product, and it is regulated as the second one. Wiring, drivers, earthing and certification decide whether a fixture can legally be installed in your market, and none of that is visible in a photograph. We buy lighting out of the Zhongshan and Guzhen belt, and we confirm the electrical specification and the documents before a fixture is ordered in volume.

What we source in this category

Six product lines
we buy most often.

Most lighting orders mix decorative pieces for visible areas with functional fixtures for everything else. Both come from the same supplier network.

01

Pendant Lights

Single pendants, cluster pendants and large statement fixtures for dining tables, stairwells and reception areas.

02

Table & Floor Lamps

Bedside lamps, reading lamps, floor lamps and task lighting in ceramic, glass, metal and fabric.

03

Ceiling & Flush Mounts

Flush and semi-flush ceiling lights, downlights and surface-mounted fixtures for circulation areas.

04

Wall Sconces

Interior and exterior wall lights, bathroom sconces and up-down wall washers, hard-wired or plug-in.

05

Architectural & Linear

Linear profiles, track systems, cove lighting and bespoke architectural fixtures built to a drawing.

06

Commercial & Hospitality

Reception and lobby feature lights, restaurant pendants, corridor and stairwell fixtures built to a schedule.

Materials and construction

What it is made of
and what to ask for.

With lighting, the shade material is the easy half. The electrical half — driver, earthing, ingress rating — is what determines whether the fixture passes inspection at your end.

01

Metal

Brass, steel, aluminium and stainless, in plated, brushed, powder-coated or hand-patinated finishes. Ask for coating thickness on anything going into a bathroom or coastal property.

↗
02

Glass

Mouth-blown, opal, frosted, ribbed and clear glass. Fragile and heavy; the packing spec matters as much as the product.

↗
03

Fabric & paper shades

Linen, cotton and paper shades, often hand-assembled. Check the lining and whether the shade is fire-treated for your market.

↗
04

Rattan, cane & wood

Woven and timber shades that read warm and natural. Batch variation is normal, so approve a physical sample.

↗
05

Crystal & acrylic

Machine-cut crystal and acrylic for chandeliers and decorative pieces. Confirm whether it is leaded crystal or acrylic, which changes both weight and documentation.

↗
06

LED & electrical components

Integrated LED, external drivers, dimming compatibility and colour temperature. Confirm CRI, kelvin, dimming protocol and whether the driver is replaceable.

What to expect when buying

What the first order
usually looks like.

Lighting is quoted on specification. These are the ranges buyers plan around before the electrical details are confirmed.

Typical MOQStocked decorative fixtures often start at two to ten pieces. Custom finishes, sizes or architectural runs usually begin at twenty to fifty units.Indicative
Lead timeTen to twenty-five days for stocked items; thirty to fifty days for made-to-order or finished-to-sample work.Indicative
SamplingOne sample fixture is worth buying. It settles finish, colour temperature and build quality faster than any specification sheet.Recommended
PackagingShades packed separately from frames, with inner boxes and corner protection. Glass and crystal get dedicated crating at volume.Ask upfront
ComplianceCE and UKCA for Europe and the UK, UL or ETL for North America, SAA for Australia, plus RoHS and the correct voltage for your market.Essential

Confirm the certification your market requires before ordering, not after. A fixture without the right mark cannot be installed legally, however good it looks.

Before you send the enquiry

Six things worth
deciding before you ask.

Lighting quotes are only accurate once the electrical environment is known.

Destination market and the certification the installation actually requires
Voltage and frequency: 110–120V at 60Hz, or 220–240V at 50Hz
Whether fixtures are hard-wired or plug-in, and who is installing them
Colour temperature preference, usually 2700K warm to 4000K neutral
Dimming requirement and which dimming protocol is already in the building
IP rating for bathrooms and other wet or high-humidity areas

If you are unsure about certification, tell us the country and the installer will usually know. We will confirm what the factory can supply.

Listing fixture vs. specified fixture

What changes
when the electrical side is checked.

Two fixtures can look identical online and differ completely in whether they can be installed. The difference is in the documents.

On your own

Buying from a listing

  • Certification assumed rather than confirmed, and discovered missing at inspection
  • Driver and dimming compatibility unknown until the electrician arrives
  • Colour temperature that looked warm on screen and reads cold in the room
  • Shades crushed in transit because nobody specified the packing
  • No replacement parts if a driver fails after installation
Through OZ

Buying through OZ

  • Certification confirmed with the factory for your specific market
  • Voltage, CRI, kelvin and dimming protocol written into the order
  • A physical sample approved before the bulk run starts
  • Shades and glass packed to survive the actual journey
  • Spare drivers and glasses ordered with the fixtures, not after failure
Common questions

Before you send
the first enquiry.

These are the questions that decide whether a lighting order can be installed without surprises.

What certification do your lights carry?

It depends on what your market requires and what the factory holds. Common marks are CE and UKCA for Europe and the UK, UL or ETL for North America, and SAA for Australia, alongside RoHS. Tell us the installation country and we will confirm which marks the fixture can actually be supplied with, rather than quoting a generic claim.

Can you supply the right voltage for my country?

Yes. Voltage is specified at the time of order, typically 110–120V at 60Hz for North America and 220–240V at 50Hz elsewhere. Integrated LED fixtures may also need a driver rated for your supply, which we confirm with the factory before production rather than after it.

Are the lamps dimmable?

Only if specified that way. Dimmability depends on both the driver and the dimmer type in your building, so we ask which dimming protocol is already installed before quoting. Retrofitting a driver after installation costs far more than choosing the right one up front.

Can you make a fixture from a drawing?

Yes. Architectural and custom decorative fixtures are regularly built to a drawing or a reference photograph, with a sample made first for approval. Bespoke work generally starts at twenty to fifty units and takes longer than a stocked item, so it suits projects with a fixed schedule.
