China Home Decor Sourcing
Decor, Storage & Everyday Living
Decor is the easiest category to buy and the easiest to get wrong. Unit prices are low, catalogues are endless, and the real cost hides in breakage, mixed batches and freight charged on volume you did not expect. We buy decor across Yiwu, Chaozhou and Guangzhou suppliers, consolidate it in one warehouse and repack it so fragile pieces survive the trip.
Six product lines
we buy most often.
Decor orders are almost always mixed. Most buyers send a list that touches three or four of these lines at once, which is exactly why consolidation matters.
Wall Decor & Mirrors
Framed prints, mirrors, wall panels, metal wall art and decorative clocks, including oversized pieces that need crating.
Storage & Organisation
Baskets, boxes, trays, shelving accessories, drawer organisers and wardrobe storage in woven, fabric or board construction.
Textiles & Soft Furnishings
Cushions, throws, curtains, table linen, rugs and runners, matched to a colour or fabric reference.
Decorative Accessories
Vases, bowls, trays, candle holders, sculptures and tabletop pieces in ceramic, glass, metal and resin.
Candles & Home Fragrance
Scented candles, diffusers, reed sets and wax melts, with fragrance, vessel and packaging options.
Artificial Plants & Planters
Artificial greenery, dried arrangements and planters in ceramic, fibre clay, metal and rattan.
What it is made of
and what to ask for.
In decor, the material decides three things at once: how it looks, how it survives freight, and whether it can clear your market's compliance checks.
Ceramic & porcelain
The backbone of decor and tableware. Ask about glaze consistency and firing quality — colour drift between batches is the most common complaint.
Glass
Mouth-blown, machine-pressed or tempered. Beautiful and fragile; packed properly it travels fine, packed cheaply it does not.
Metal
Iron, brass, aluminium and stainless, with powder-coating, plating or hand-finished patina. Check coating adhesion on pieces headed for humid climates.
Wood, bamboo & rattan
Mango wood, acacia, bamboo and natural rattan. Hand-finished pieces vary by batch, so approve a sample rather than a photograph.
Textiles
Cotton, linen, polyester and blends. Specify weight, weave and colour fastness, especially for anything that will be washed.
Resin & polyresin
Good for detailed shapes at low unit cost, and far more forgiving in transit than ceramic. Heavier than it looks, which affects freight.
What the first order
usually looks like.
Decor has the lowest entry cost of any category we buy, but freight is charged on volume. These are the ranges buyers plan around.
Unit prices are low enough that freight usually dominates. Consolidating a decor order is where most of the saving is found.
Six things worth
deciding before you ask.
Decor briefs go faster when the fragile and the bulky are separated from the start.
Decor is the category where buyers most often underestimate freight. Tell us your landed-cost target and we will work backwards from it.
What changes
when everything ships together.
Decor is usually bought from several sellers at once. How those parcels are combined is where the money is.
Ordering direct
- Each seller ships separately, so international freight is paid several times
- Breakage discovered at your door, with no practical way to claim it back
- Retail packaging left in place, inflating the volume you are charged on
- No photos before dispatch, so colour and finish are a surprise
- Returns across borders cost more than the item is worth
Buying through OZ
- Everything held in one warehouse and shipped as a single consignment
- Fragile pieces inspected, photographed and repacked before dispatch
- Retail packaging removed where it only adds volume, on your approval
- Photo report before anything leaves, so wrong items never ship
- Breakage handled with the seller in China, while the goods are still here
Before you send
the first enquiry.
These come up on nearly every decor order.
Can I buy just a few pieces?
Yes. Stocked decor can usually be bought one to five pieces at a time, and there is no minimum order value. The only thing to watch is freight: a single small parcel costs disproportionately more per item than a consolidated box, so most buyers add a few more pieces once they see the numbers.
How do you pack fragile items?
Fragile pieces are individually wrapped, boxed and cushioned, then placed inside the consolidated export carton with the heavy items at the bottom. Mirrors, large ceramics and glass get corner protection or a wooden crate where the value justifies it, and we photograph the packing before dispatch.
Can I mix items from different sellers?
Yes, and it is what most decor orders look like. We receive parcels from each seller into our Guangdong warehouse, check them against your list, hold them until everything has arrived and then pack one shipment with one tracking number.
Do tableware and candles need certification?
They can. Tableware sold for food use usually needs LFGB or FDA food-contact testing, and candles and fragrances have labelling rules in most markets. Tell us where the goods are going and we will confirm what applies before you order rather than after.
One category is
rarely the whole order.
Most buyers mix categories in the same shipment. These sit next to Home Decor & Living most often.
